Atlantic Restaurant

After already having consumed an enormous meal at the house of a relative it seemed a shame to pass a night in Perth without having tried some local seafood.

So the directive was to pile back into the car, find work colleagues in Subiaco and go crazy at Atlantic Restaurant, or so we thought.

But the problem with arriving late (and full) to a dinner with friends is that they have usually taken some form of drastic action. And so it was. The ordering had been done already.

There was some entree to calm me down, but the seafood platter with the lot seemed like an acceptable decision. The platter arrived magnificently in the form of a bowl of mussels. But there was more.

Potato chips were placed upon the table (not half as good as the stupendous potato chips from Little Creatures) and were quickly followed by the object of our desire, the seafood platter.

The fish was fresh, delicious and had superlatives heaped upon it. The lobster was good, the oysters fantastic and the scallops generous.

Atlantic Restaurant graduated from tacky decor and absurdly cheap prices to a modern restuarant charging reasonable rates. And it has made the transition seemlessly. The service was slick, the atmosphere convivial and feeling between patrons warm. But it was in the food department that Atlantic Restaurant shone.
