Degraves confounds the trendsetters. It is always cool. It is always retro. And it is always a great place to hang out. The staff are always overworked as the coffees just keep coming throughout the day. Visit at lunch to experience the full brunt of a city café, or pop in after work for a beer and anti pasto when the place is a little less hectic.
Degraves consistently lives up to its hard earned reputation of serving some of Melbourne's best coffee. The soy latte is generally excellent, with the crema formed perfectly; not too many air bubbles and the milk is definitely not burnt. Degraves use Grinders coffee, and have a high staff turnover. But while there are underworked actrices and destitute university students there will always be somebody looking for a job at Degraves.
