In Paris, the city of love, French-Japanese Fusion cooking has successfully invaded many of the cities chicest eateries. It seems that here in Hamburg, the city of the World Cups largest open air screen, the Italians have followed suite.
D.O.C, a new fine dining experience superbly located on the bank of the Hamburg inner city lake, die Innen Alster, offers the perfect Restaurant solution for any Foodie like myself who can never decide between the Spaghetti Marinara of Bento Box.
We began our evening sin a cultural mix of sushi and sashimi, scollops and green asparagus. Asparagus, which ever colour, is one of Germany's most favourite delicacies and not to be missed.
I delved into my Italien side for Maincourse, white asparagus (natürlich!) stuffed Ravoli in a butter and herb sauce. Soft and delicious.
The Pinot Grigiot flowed continually into my glass, thanks to our lovely Italian/German waiter, so unfortunantely the meals of my fellow diners went unnoticed. Although I am sure they were equally delicious.
Enjoying the Micheal Jackson light display projected on the sparking water, we extended our D.O.C dining experience und indulged into a selection of petit Desserts. Sorbets, berries, methe and chocolate. The perfect end to a fantastic night, satisfying the three most important aspects of a successful dining experience....
