Filou's Pâtisserie

One of the treasures of Lygon St. Filou's bread is some of the best in Melbourne. An almond croissant and a coffee while watching the sardines get to university is a great method of procrastination. A quick stop off in the morning for a baguette and a croissant for breakfast is a delight of living near the cemetary.

Filou makes delicious pastries, real eclairs, and marvellous baguettes and sour doughs. The pies are boscastle and the coffee is decent. It does get a bit chilly outside, but the warm produce is more than adequate compensation. Filou can be temperamental, and refuses to admit that he is wrong, but when you can bake like he can, allowances must be made.
