Galleon Cafe

It's a busy place, the Galleon. The beach end of Carlisle St, near Ackland St, is a perfect location for this excellent cafe. They know how to make a coffee and my friend's soy chai was consumed without complaint. Soy chai? I was drinking mocha latte, so I could hardly be too cynical.

My porridge, with apple and rhubarb and yoghurt with honey and cold milk, was easyto eat. The porridge was salty enough and not lumpy. It was hot. The fruit was unexciting and the yoghurt reasonable without being excellent. Hearty, healthy but such a fine place can do better.

The bircher muesli, with almond flakes on top, was described as really good and that's how it looked.

Prices are acceptable for that part of Melbourne and the rest of the menu is inviting.

Seriously worth a breakfast visit.
