Il Dolce Freddo

Another trip to Il Dolce Freddo, passing up the opportunity to visit Lix, Trampoline, Gelo Bar, Casa Del Gelato and Limonetto, although Limonetto is a bit of a drive (passing Limonetto just doesn't seem right).

Gelato on a wintery Melbourne evening is not the most sensible of desserts, but it is still damn good. Reflecting the demographic changes on Lygon Street, Durian, Green Tea, Snickers, and Toblerone were in, and out with Zabaglione, Bacio and Pistachio.

I tried the Toblerone, Snickers and the Violet Crumble, deciding that it was difficult to leave the Chocolate Bar theme, with a friend sampling the Lemon, Lychee and Mango. The gelato was a bit disappointing, but given the season that is to be expected. Perhaps the highlight of the visit was a friend's inspired choice of the Italian hot chocolate.
