Laksa King may be the best laksa in Melbourne. Intrepid laksa devotees have scoured the burbs for the best laksa in town, but keep returning to the Laksa King for the cheap prices, the deep bowls and the creamy coconut flavour. The kitchen is busy and the service frantic but everything on the menu hits the spot.
The Japanese spring rolls are tiny and filled with prawn. But on the whole the entrées are slim pickings. The rest of the menu looks appetising but has been untouched.
But the main event is also the biggest decision of the evening. What laksa to order? There is vegetarian, regular, chicken and seafood. Clams are an additional $1. Fish-head laksa is also on the menu, but so far I have overlooked it. Each bowl is a reasonable combination of soup, noodles, vegetables and meats. There is no laksa rip-off going on in Flemington, and everybody is happy.

I placed a booking for 6 people at 9pm today and when we arrived there, my guests and I had to wait for half an hour to get served.
