Little Creatures

"Set inside a huge converted boatshed on Fremantle's Fishing Boat Harbour, Little Creatures is a working brewery, bar and casual bistro. It attracts a mixed crowd, from families and boaties to surfers and young bohemians." Gourmet Traveller 2005 Australian Restaurant Guide

Little Creatures is a fabulous place to visit. An absolute highlight of Western Australia. Little Creatures brews some of the best beer in Australia and their Pale Ale, Pilsener and Roger's Beer are on tap.

The Little Creatures Pale Ale is fantastic, described as such on the Little Creatures website:

"Little Creatures was born to make a pale ale…a specific style of pale ale, a style that we are absolutely passionate about and one that we believe displays great balance of flavour and refreshment…complex yet highly drinkable.

The beer's character is driven by the use of fresh whole hop flowers. Hop Flowers are carefuly selected that are bursting with aroma and contain all the essential oils and acids that deliver an uniqe flavour experience. Drink a few pints of this beer and you'll soon become one of us…a certified "hophead" craving those crisp citrus flavours of grapefruit and passionfruit and maybe a bit of honey, all backed up with a good balance of bitterness."

The atmosphere is great. Not too pretentious, not too yuppified, not too hippy, not too cool, not too uncool, Little Creatures may be a bar/restaurant that offers something to almost everybody, no matter how many places claim it.

The food is excellent and the service remarkable. While draining a pint try the chips, seafood or even a pizza, although the pizza is not quite as good as i Carusi or other traditional Italian pizza houses.

The wine list is excellent and all of the dining options worth a go.

From Mietta's
"A huge cathedral like space, complete with a stained glass window, filled with serried ranks of stainless steel tanks soaring heavenwards, dwarfing the puny figures clustered around the bar below. Lovely beer, ordinary food, rough staff provide a heavenly experience. A little less uplifting on the decking over the water out-back. Great situation and fabulous beer."
