Ouzeri

After a long date at a conference it was time to let my hair down. And after passing through the disappointments of South Bank it was onto West End. After walking up and down Russell street we dismessed the uber bar and settled for Ouzeri. It was busy, it was al fresco and it had seemed lively over the last couple of days. And the other important ingredient also existed. We felt like Greek.

Pouring over the menu, we settled for the set menu. It came slowly at first. Great dips with a lot of bread consumed over 40 minutes. The diners around us were fascinating, we were slowly readapting to city life over tzatziki and pita. The calamari followed and shortly after so did the sausages and bbq meats. The selection was fantastic. The haloumi was fresh and vast, and the salad delicious. The feta served was fantastic.

Ast we moved onto the meats a dance class started metres from us. There was jealously, lust, love and a lot of passion just a few steps away. It was too much on this night, but added to the festivities. The conference was a long way away.

Meals on other tables looked fantastic. The ingredients were excellent and the meal was huge. $45 for 8 plates for two people was great value and the atmosphere adds to this dining experience like few places can.
