For hungry foodies on the road, the Qantas club can be a great place to recuperate, but a little more difficult if a passionate foodie has an hour or two to kill on an empty stomach.
In the Alice Springs Qantas Club this is even more difficult as the quality and quantity of food is poor. There are nuts on offer from time to timeas well as fruit cake, but generally the plate under the plastic case is empty, with the throng descending on any refill within minutes. Tuna or rare roast beef sandwiches are brought out occaisionally, but the quality is comparable with economy class food - which is poor at best.
In all, the food situation is enough to make one reach for the liquor cabinet, just hope that it is after 12.
