One of the greatest places in San Francisco, Tartine Bakery is worth the sometimes excruciating wait.
For breakfast they have great croissants, cinnamon buns, wonder pain au chocolats, Pain au Jambon with gruyere and smoked ham, Gougere with gruyere cheese and fresh herbs, muesli and amazing bread pudding with fresh fruits.
You can't go past a cafe au lait with a croissant on a busy Sunday morning.
Pastries, cakes, cookies and everything else are worth a sample, as are the fresh sandwiches, including a fabulous Croque Monsieur.
Look, everything is great here. The food, service, location. You'll be thinking of this place whenever you feel like good bread or just hanging out in a great bakery.
