The Sandcastle Organic Cafe

The Sandcastle Organic Cafe serves good quality food, but it is a bit expensive and not as lively as I like.

The Sandcastle Organic Cafe was the venue for a post Little Creatures meal in the middle of a week of meetings. After the energy of Little Creatures the Sandcastle felt like a little bit of a let down, but only in the beginning. We entered a quiet room on South Terrace far away from the bustle of the Fremantle Markets.

The menu looked excellent, especially the tapas range, but having just eaten two pizzas and a fantastic bowl of chips we were ready for the main course.

I sampled the organic beef and was a little disappointed. The meat was slightly overcooked and the capsicum reduction around the beef was too sweet. The other guests had more success and the chicken breast and curries were delicious.

We finished off with desserts and once again I was upset with the butterscotch pudding. Everybody else was impressed with their choices, especially the mousse and I left wondering what I had done to have ordered so poorly.

Perhaps it was the combination of a busy pub with a quiet meal, but I will have to return to the Sandcastle Organic Cafe in different circumstances to better appreciate its qualities and food.
