While not as weel reviewed as some of its illustrious gelato competitors, Yumbo's serves some decent ice cream at a fair price.
It is an unassuming shop front, often staffed by uni students, that provides Rathdowne Village with good quality ice cream.
Flavours like Arabesque, Truffle, Butter Scotch and Pannacotta are all delicious.
Unlike some of Melbourne's more pretentious gelato artists, the staff at Yumbo's are more than happy to allow a sample or two. One Saturday night I tried the entire flavour range, before happily setting for Pannecotta and Hazelnut.
