I've made a few successful visits to Zest in Food. Eventually it deserved a metion on Feelin' Foodie.
The cafe has been set up opposite Gardenvale primary school, replacing the old milk bar and canteen years ago. Zest serves pretty standard fare but it is great spot to watch children get the most out of their small change (or 5 dollar notes), mothers and fathers narrowly avoid accidents while getting their kids as close as possible to the front gate, and the general pre-school chaos.
The green eggs and ham are delicious, all other eggs pretty good, and good coffee, tea. There is also a food store.
Zest rates a mention because it is so pleasurable to visit a foodie place in an exciting location without the hustle of a busy street. Zest exists in a residential area and ones enjoyment increases accordingly.
